Scheduling Tree Work

Fall is the busiest time for crews. Schedule now to get urgent work completed before the environmental stressors of winter settle in. Alternatively, if the work is not time sensitive, it is worth mentioning to your estimator. You may be able to obtain winter pricing if they are able to schedule you in the slow season or ass needed to fill in schedule gaps. Find out why winter is the best time to get trees removed.

Bagworms and Insecticide

We have finally reached the time that insecticides are ineffective on full sized bag worms. At this time you must resort to mechanical elimination for population control. Simply pick the the bags via hand and contain them in a bucket. Burn or thoroughly crush the bags to dispose of the pest. Read our June article to find out more about dealing with bagworms in Nebraska.

Top off Mulch

Mulch around the base of your trees: Applying a layer of mulch around the base of your trees can help to retain moisture in the soil, which will keep the tree's roots hydrated and healthy. Make sure to apply a layer of mulch that is no more than 2-3 inches deep, and keep it away from the trunk to prevent rot.

Fall Tree Planting

Considering fall planting? Certain species do better when planted in the fall vs. spring. Consult with Arborist for fall planting recommendations. Planting trees early lets them deeply root before harsh winter weather. We recommend that you do not use fertilizer. Nebraska soils contain significant levels of nutrients and fertilizer can stress trees out when applied at the wrong time.
